Lost and Found in China
Lost and Found in China is the story of a single trip that became the adventure of a lifetime.
Andrew Shepperd is believed to be one of the few non-Chinese people who have visited the 33 provinces and autonomous regions in mainland China.
Lost and Found in China is the story of those visits. But it is so much more than just another travel book about a geographical adventure. It explores the personal story of a man who found a new direction for life along the way.
No cameramen accompanied him, and there was no backup team or researchers to smooth his path. This journey of discovery, which lasted nine years, consisted of road trips made with friends in a budget rental car, such as any ordinary traveller might hire. The stunning photography throughout the book was taken on a standard cellphone.
Throughout the book, as in the adventure behind it, Andrew Shepperd deliberately explores the other sides of China – the people, the history, the landscapes, the psyche and simply the experience of being there – with the aim of entertaining, inspiring, and demystifying a country that is home to a third of the world’s population and increasingly influences world events and thinking.
